The inaugural Barbasol Junior Championship is June 28 through July 1 at Keene Run Golf Course in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

The Barbasol Junior Championship is a nationally ranked junior golf tournament. The 54-hole stroke play event is contested over three days and is open to amateur boys under the age of 19 who have not entered their first year of college.

“We’re excited to continue growing the Barbasol Championship brand and its impact on our community with the addition of this event,” said Bryan Pettigrew, Barbasol Championship Tournament Director. “Fans are in for a treat, with some of the very best U-19 players from around the world competing in what we believe will quickly become the nation’s premier junior tournament.”

The Barbasol Junior Championship will include over 120 players, currently residing in 25 different states and five countries including, the United States, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, and the Philippines.

The Barbasol Junior Champion will receive coveted exemption to the 2021 PGA TOUR Barbasol Championship, which will be played July 15-18 at Keene Run Golf Course. The Barbasol Junior Championship is the only junior golf tournament in the country to offer an exemption to a PGA TOUR event.

“Youth golf in Kentucky is one of the fastest growing activities and we are honored to showcase our course to these national and international athletes,” said Tyler VanHoose, General Manager of Keene Trace Golf Club. “We have worked tirelessly with the Barbasol Championship and Golf House Kentucky to create a world-class junior golf tournament and introduce young boys and girls to these elite athletes.”

First Tee – Greater Lexington, the Gilbert-Bunnel Foundation, and Golf House Kentucky will host a free Youth Golf Clinic while the Barbasol Junior Championship is played. Games, bounce houses, food specials and clinics for beginners up to advance golfers will be conducted by PGA golf instructors between 9 am and noon. College golf teams will be on hand to introduce families and children to the game of golf, explaining “golf etiquette”, giving tours of the golf course, and explain the competition.
