March 22 is Kentucky Girl Scout Day
The Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road (GSKWR) and the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana gathered to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Girl Scouts at the Kentucky State Capitol on March 22, 2022. Governor Andy Beshear joined the young leaders in celebrating the anniversary by declaring March 22 “Kentucky Girl Scout Day” and issued a proclamation in the Capitol Rotunda. Prior to his declaration, Susan Douglas, CEO of GSKWR, and Maggie Elder, CEO of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, gave a joint presentation, honoring the positive change Girl Scouts have made in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The 50 Girl Scout members and volunteers from the combined councils had the opportunity to meet with state legislators, tour the historic Capitol building, and participate in a variety of leadership activities.
